Program Objective

This symposium supports the delivery of the Stroke Network’s Workplan priorities. It provides an opportunity for members of the interprofessional team to learn from each other and network to improve collaboration and quality of care.  At the end of the symposium the participant will have had the opportunity to:

  • learn best practice strategies to use in the practice setting
  • engage in interactive learning that supports a practical hands-on approach
  • develop a collaborative network of health care providers
  • develop stroke assessment and treatment skills
  • develop and share stroke expertise
  • develop an awareness of how to support the stroke client and caregiver
  • become more aware of services, programs, educational resources and regional priorities
  • learn about exciting changes occurring that are improving patient outcomes

Program Content (see draft symposium outline below)

  • Global Presentations – presentations held in the ballroom targeting all participants
  • Concurrent break-out sessions -three 45 min. concurrent sessions with 3 sessions in each time slot (9 total)
  • Posters/displays and networking opportunities
