Implementation of Mirror Visual Feedback in Stoke Care

Target audience: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants working in stroke care across Southeastern Ontario

Learning objectives:

By the end of the workshop series, participants will be able to do the following within the scope of their practice role:

  1. Define mirror visual feedback and describe at least 3 different ways it could be applied within stroke rehabilitation.
  2. Describe the available evidence for mirror visual feedback in stroke care, and the anticipated or targeted outcomes.
  3. Identify clients who might benefit from mirror visual feedback, and develop a tailored and graded plan of care.
  4. Support clients wanting to use mirror visual feedback as a home or supplemental program.
  5. Educate clients about the risks and benefits of using mirror visual feedback.
  6. Select and administer relevant outcome measures to monitor the effects of mirror visual feedback.
  7. Collaborate with other interprofessional team members to optimize the use of mirror visual feedback in their setting.
